Three Palestinians shot dead by Israeli forces after crossing from Gaza - Haaretz

Three Palestinians were shot and killed by Israeli soldiers after crossing 400 meters into Israel from the Gaza Strip on Tuesday, an army spokesman said. No Israeli casualties were reported.

The three Palestinians were identified as Muhammad Hani Abu Mandil, Salem Ana'ami and Mahmoud Said, all 16-year-old residents of central Gaza. According to the Israel Defense Forces' statement, the three suspects breached the border fence in southern Gaza, near Kibbutz Kissufim, and launched an explosive device at a military force that arrived at the scene.

There were heavy rains in the area at the time of the incident.

On Saturday, Hamas militants told Haaretz that they are preparing to increase the firing of incendiary balloons at Israel this week, in protest of the lack of progress on the ground, despite talks between Israel and Hamas and attempts to advance long-term understandings.

Also Saturday, Lebanon’s Al-Akhbar newspaper reported that Palestinian factions intend to also renew in the coming days operations by units responsible for causing nighttime disturbances along the border.

In the past year, there have been several attempts by Palestinian militants to breach the Gaza border and attack Israeli soldiers
