Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told US National Security adviser John Bolton on Sunday that any peace deal must include an Israeli presence in the West Bank's Jordan Valley.

He made the comment while visiting the area in the North of Israel with Bolton and US Ambassador David Friedman.

"In any future peace agreement, our position is that Israel's presence here must continue - for the security of Israel and for the security of all," he said."To those who say that in order to achieve peace on Israel to leave the Jordan Valley, I say: it will not bring peace - it will bring war and terror."

Netanyahu added that he cannot understand how the Palestinians have rejected the US peace deal "without even seeing it."

He added that he would hear would hear out the peace deal in a "fair and open manner."

"I’ll just say that without security there is no peace, there is no long-lasting peace," Bolton responded. "And I just think it’s too bad, prime minister, that more Americans can’t come to locations like this, see the geography, understand its significance, understand how it affects Israel’s critical security position, and explain why Israel has taken the view that it has.

"I can assure you that President [Donald] Trump will take the concerns that you have voiced so clearly over the years very much into account as we go forward on this," he said.

Bolton met with Netanyahu earlier on Sunday in Jerusalem, amid ongoing tensions with Iran.

Netanyahu said that the US has no better ally than Israel and vice-versa, adding that Bolton's visit will only strengthen the relations between the countries to discuss ongoing threats in the Middle East.

"Those who believe that Iran's aggression commenced just now is living in a different dimension; we have been countering Iran's attempt to establish itself in Syria and assist Hezbollah," Netanyahu claimed.

Bolton thanked Netanyahu for his leadership and friendship, and promised that the US sanctions on Iran will only grow, claiming that "Iran can never have nuclear weapons."

Bolton also revealed that US President Donald Trump is looking forward to discussing the issues in the Middle East with Russian President Vladimir Putin at the upcoming G20 summit.
